Sammy Wineford Morgan Jr., 55, of Claude, Texas, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023, in Claude.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2023, in the First Baptist Church in Memphis, Texas, with Rev. Daniel Downey officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis. Viewing was held from 1-5 p.m.Thursday, Nov. 9 at Robertson’s in Claude. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors.
Sammy was born Aug. 9, 1968, in Russellville, Ark. to Patsy and Sammy Morgan Sr. He married the love of his life, Delia Maldonado, on Sept. 4, 1993, in Memphis, where they were married for 30 years.
Sammy drove a semi-truck for most of his life and proudly served in the U.S. Navy for four years. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, which everyone knows were his world. Sammy was a selfless man; he was always willing to help anyone who needed it. Sammy was an avid Cowboy and Longhorn fan, and he also loved watching NASCAR.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Sammy Morgan Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Delia Morgan, of Claude; his son, Samuel Morgan, and wife Brooklyn Morgan, of Claude; his daughters, Heather Morgan, of San Antonio, and Nikki Holmes and husband AJ Holmes, of Lubbock; five grandchildren, Kenady, Kara and Karter, all of Lubbock, and Callie and Cade, of Claude; his mother, Patsy Morgan; three sisters, Vanessa Forbes, Stefanie Lily and Dianne Findlay; and numerous nieces and nephews.
