Joe Lee Williams, 73, of Estelline, Texas, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024, in Childress, Texas.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, in the First Baptist Church in Memphis, Texas. Burial will follow in Estelline Cemetery in Estelline. Viewing took place Wednesday, Jan. 24 at the funeral home with visitation from 4-6 p.m. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.

Joe Lee Williams was born Sept. 1, 1950, in Big Sandy, Texas, to Lee Ella and Theo Williams. Joe Lee attended school in Memphis before integration, and then at Estelline school, where he graduated in 1968.

Dedicated to farming alongside his parents, Joe Lee later transitioned to beef packing at IBP. Joe Lee had a true passion for his job, and it led him to become a supervisor. After dedicating more than 20 years to his career, he retired.

Joe Lee went to be with the Lord, hand in hand with his sister Mary Ann Drew, on Jan. 18, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Ella “Granny” Williams and Theo “Crawdad” Williams; daughter Summer Sheree Williams; sister Mary Ann Drew; and nephew Benny Ray Williams Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Shelly Harris and son Brock Williams; five granddaughters and four grandsons; five great-grandsons; brothers Theo Williams Jr., Tommy Lee Williams and Ivory Lee Williams; sisters Mary Lee Acosta, Ella Mae Drew and Pearlie Ann Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He will truly be missed. Rest easy, Dad.
