A Memorial Service for Nancy Fuston, 72, of Childress, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Childress First Presbyterian Church. A visitation will be held prior to the service at the church. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
Nancy Jean (Reid) Fuston passed into the hands of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 7, 2024. Nancy was a member of the Childress Presbyterian Church. She was born on Jan. 29, 1952, in Amarillo, Texas to JW Reid Jr and Betty (Koerting) Reid. She graduated from Silverton High School in 1969 and West Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in 1976. Nancy and David were married on Aug. 26, 1972, in Silverton, Texas.
Nancy is survived her husband, David; two daughters and one son, Megan George, husband Dave and children Ainsley, Ethan and Owen, Matthew Fuston, wife Ashley and children Hattie and Tyler, and Molly Sims, husband Sawyer and children Raylie, Braxton, Aerin and Wrenley; Tiffany, Alicia and Stormy, who she claimed as her daughters; two brothers, Jim Reid and wife Shelia, of Amarillo, and Dick Reid and wife Susie, of Midland, Texas; and her step-brother, Gene Smith.
Nancy was a mother, business manager, 4-H leader and volunteer. She served on the Childress Independent School District School Board and worked tirelessly for women’s athletics. She once told people that all the children in school were hers. She supported stock shows and other sports and youth activities.
Nancy loved flowers, but in lieu of, please donate to your favorite youth group or charity. I would like to thank you all for the prayers during the last 10 months. They meant the world to Nancy, the kids and me. Again, thank you.
