Clarence Jones, 70, of Wellington, Texas, departed this earthly life on Monday, Dec. 30, 2024.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, at North Fairview Cemetery with Rev.Anthony Knowles, pastor of the Quail Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington.
Born on Dec. 13, 1954, in Mesa, Ariz., Clarence moved to Wellington with his family from Altus, Okla. He attended school in Wellington until the ninth grade.
Clarence was baptized at the Holy Sanctuary C.O.G.I.C. in 1974 and joined the Victory Temple Full Gospel Church in 1989.
He served as a custodian at Barlett’s Lumber and Hardware for 10 years and at Walmart for two years, until the decline in his health resulted in him being unable to work.
Clarence leaves to morn his passing his siblings, Regina Collins McBay, of Markham, Ill., Walter Collins, of Chicago, Ill., Howard Collins and wife Phyllis, of Poway, Calif., LeRoy Jones and wife Julia, of Los Angeles, Calif., Gladys Jones,John Jones and Jarvis Jones,all of Omaha,Neb.,and Renee Mathis,of Wellington; and nephews Jason Mathis and wife Wendy and children and Justin Jones and son Jesse; and nieces Courtney Schantz and husband Ron, III and children and Nikkie Hopkins and children.
The family suggests that memorials be made to Collingsworth County Home Delivered Meals or the Wellington Cemetery Association.
