TOM CAMPBELL
Tom Campbell, 71, of Gould, Okla., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025.
Funeral services took place at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025, at the Hollis Methodist Church with Keith Martin, Kenny Lee Tunstall and Donald Altom, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in North Fairview Cemetery in Wellington, Texas. Arrangements were by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington.
Jace Martin, Scotty Smith, Mark Robinson, Chad Robinson, Riley Beanland and Mark Randall served as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers were Garlon Riley, Dean Smith, John Jones, Ed Jones, Doug Testerman, Charlie Testerman, Kenny Tunstall, Darren Jones, W.J. Hudspeth, Bruce Dennis, Chris Ellison, Larry Kane and Bart Plummer.
Tom was born on April 26, 1953, in Wellington to Jim Cliff and Rachel Ruch Rainer Campbell. He graduated from Wellington High School in 1971 and from TSTI in Amarillo in 1972.
He married Donna Vaughan on Aug.10,1974,in Hollis, Okla.
Tom farmed for Tommy Lewis for several years, then custom farmed for a few years. After his father’s death, he ran cattle on the family ranch for 10 years.
In 1992, Tom and Donna moved to Hollis, where Tom began farming for Sam Messenger, until about 2003, when he went to work for Testerman Farms and Circle T Trucking, where he was employed at the time of his passing. During most of this time, he also worked every Thursday at the Wellington Livestock Commission’s weekly sale.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Kirby and Evelyn Campbell; and his niece, Joie Blake.
Tom is survived by his wife Donna; a daughter, Corie Orr, and her husband, Jason, of Childress, Texas; his son, James David Campbell, and his wife, Erin, of Austin,Texas; a brother, James T. Campbell, and his wife, Mickye, of Amarillo, Texas; a sister, Jane Campbell, of Wellington; and six grandchildren, Ethan Orr, Justyn Orr, Elizabeth Orr, Catelyn Campbell, Colton Campbell and Connor Campbell.
