Body

Colline Evelyn (Brown) Kinsey passed away Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025, in Childress, Texas.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025, at West Park Cemetery, located at 800 Bradley St., Hereford, Texas, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home, with Mr. Landrum officiating.

No visitation is scheduled.

Mamma, Caudie Ola Brown, a teacher in Hereford, raised her family — Emma Jane, Colleen, Emmett and Martha Jean — in a home filled with many happy times.

Following high school, she earned a degree at West Texas A&M University. After college, she worked in the Methodist Churches, where she met her husband, Albert Kinsey, in 1959 at the Methodist Church in Dumas, Texas. After the couple married, they moved to McAlester, Okla., with Shell Oil Company.

They then moved to Elk City, Okla., where Colline taught third grade. Following the school year, during the summer, she earned her master’s degree. Meanwhile, Albert worked at the Shell Oil Plant, taking all the classes Shell had to offer, including one called I.C.S. In December 1995, Shell sent the couple to Sidney, Mont., where they bared 40-degree-below to zero-degree weather. They lived in Montana, Wyoming, Utah and then, Houston, three times.

Albert worked in the Western Division Shell. In 1979, he was promoted to Division Operator, which included most of the U.S for Shell Oil Company. In 1989, he was offered early retirement. Following, he raised wheat and cattle in Childress, Texas. Albert is buried at Verden, Okla. cemetery.

Colline is preceded in death by her parents, Collin Brown and Caudie Roberson, as well as her beloved husband, Albert.

Those left to cherish her memory are numerous extended family members.
