Elizabeth Joy Hunt, 90, former resident of Dodson, Texas, passed away Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022, in Kennedale, Texas Graveside services took place at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, 2022, at Dodson Cemetery with her family conducting her service. The family received friends at the funeral home from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10.
She was born on Aug. 28, 1932, in Crowell, Texas to Cleo C. and Mary Elizabeth Clifton Joy. She married Vance Hunt on Aug. 28, 1951, in Dallas, Texas. He preceded her in death in 2007.
Elizabeth graduated from high school in Dallas and from the University of North Texas with an associate degree. She stayed home and raised her boys and served as a homemaker until she joined her husband in their business, Vance Hunt and Associates, in 1984, when they moved to Dodson, Texas. She moved to Kennedale in 2018 to be with famil y.
Elizabeth was a faithful member of the Church of Christ.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters.
Her survivors include three sons, Steve Hunt, of Del Rio, Texas, Alan Hunt and John Hunt and his wife, Kim, all of Kennedale; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the Dodson Cemetery.
