Church Service for Freddie Sue Howard, 100, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, at the First Baptist Church with Norman Rushing officiating. A visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.

Freddie Sue Howard was born on Sept.19,1924,weighing 2 pounds,in Dennis,Texas to Fred Frank Musgrove and Nola Winell (McReynolds) Musgrove. She was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Jan. 17, 2025, in Jacksboro,Texas.

Freddie Sue went to West Texas A&M University Teaching School in Canyon, Texas. She taught school in Leila Lake, Texas and Carey, Texas. She married Roy Lee Howard on Feb. 9, 1946, in Wellington, Texas. From this union, they had two children, Sharlotte and Frank.

Freddie Sue was an active member of the First Baptist Church for many years, where she believed their kitchen was actually hers. She was an avid quilter, gardener, reader, caregiver and was an active 4-H mom of Frank and Sharlotte.

Here Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Sharlotte and Ken Nordell, of Jacksboro,and Billy Frank and Ruleen Howard, of Claude, Texas; sister Mary Lou Mc-Cord, of Seymour, Texas; sister- in-law Betty Howard, of Wheeler, Texas; three grandchildren, Nikki Nordell, of Lubbock,Texas, Jeffery Howard, of Linn, Mo., and Annie Howard, of Canyon; two great-grandchildren,Bridgette and Justin Ruppel,of Jefferson City, Mo., and Legend Davis and Kate Stiggins, of Kansas; six great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Nola (McReynolds) Musgrove; her husband of 63 years, Roy Lee Howard; sister Margaret Boykin; granddaughter-in-law Danielle Howard; and several in-laws, nieces and nephews.
