A funeral service for Gary Morrison will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 21 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Longview, Texas. Burial will follow at Hallsville Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Morrison passed away on March 17, 2025, at his home in Hallsville, Texas. Mr. Morrison was born in Memphis, Texas on Jan. 31, 1952, to William Crump Morrison and Beatrice Imogene (Brown) Morrison. His family lived on a farm south of Memphis, and Gary attended Estelline schools through his sophomore year.
The family moved to Memphis in 1968, and Gary graduated from Memphis High School in 1970. Gary went on to earn a B.S. (biology, 1974) at Hardin-Simmons University and an M.A. (biology, 1976) at Baylor University. Gary later found an enjoyable career in radiation protection (nuclear power plants) for 33 years.
In 1977, Gary married the love of his life, Jolene Jones, in Hallsville. Together, Gary and Jolene raised three wonderful children, Andrew (Amber) Morrison, Emily (Russell) Baur and Julie ( Joshua) Williams. Their grandchildren are Roxy Morrison, Valery Morrison, Garrett Baur and Lydia Baur.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, Wilson Gayle Morrison.
