Hugh Kutch, 88, of Wellington, Texas, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2026.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2026, at Adams Funeral Chapel with Rev. Harry Stallings, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington.
Hugh was born on Jan. 7, 1938, in Wellington to William H. and Della L. Kelley Kutch. He graduated from Wellington High School and attended college for two years.
In 1960, Hugh enlisted in the U.S. Army and served two years in Europe. He was honorably discharged in 1962.
Hugh served as a postal clerk for the USPS in Semi Valley, Calif. for 38 years. He returned home to Wellington in 1993 after retirement.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Watching the foot traffic to and from Collingsworth Pharmacy and visiting with friends became a great pastime for Hugh as he enjoyed the inviting porch at Parkview Manor Assisted Living.
Hugh was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Clay, Don, Thomas and Richard; three sisters, Mary Alice Holland, Louise Vinson and Jo Shumate; two nephews, Jim Kutch and Allen Kutch; and by his great-nephew, Levi Lewis.
He is survived by three nieces, Nancy McKinney, of Amarillo, Texas, Della Lewis and her husband, Jerry, of Wellington, and Pam Mayhugh, of Paducah, Texas; and a nephew, Steven Vinson.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the Collingsworth County Home Delivered Meals Program.
