John Marshall Griffith, 100, of Memphis, Texas, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025, in Amarillo.

Funeral services took place at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, at Travis Baptist Church in Memphis with Don Martin officiating. Burial with military honors followed in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis.

Viewing was held from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10 at Robertson Funeral Directors in Memphis, with family receiving friends for visitation from 4-6 p.m. Arrangements were by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.

John Marshall Griffith was born April 2, 1925, in Anson, Jones County, Texas. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He lived a full life of grace and blessing and passed away peacefully, surrounded by three generations of his family, to his long-awaited heavenly home on Sept. 6, 2025, making his stay on earth 100 years, 5 months and 5 days.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah, and a son, Mark.

He is survived by his four living children, Luke, Larry, Martha and Paul and his wife, Mary, all of Texas; three granddaughters, Connie Beth, Jinger and Valleri; four great-grandchildren, Cadance, Ryley, Bentley and Kynslee Jayde; nieces Alice Ricke, of Kansas, and Priscilla Dickerson, of Texas; nephew Jason Anglin, of Missouri; two first cousins, Bonnie Lafawn Romines, of Texas, and Ima Jane Sneed, of Washington; and many friends in church and community.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Amarillo VA Health Care System of Memphis Meals on Wheels.
