Santos “Sandra” Torrez, 89, of Wellington, Texas, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024, at her home.
Funeral services took place at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2024, at the First Baptist Church with Jermaine Cantu, pastor of the Trinity Fellowship Church, and Rev. Ronnie Lambert, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in North Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements were by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington.
Jerimy Torrez, Joshua Torrez, Christopher Stinson, Edward Torrez, Steven McKinney, Daniel Torrez, Joseph Torrez and Todd Torrez served as pallbearers.
Sandra was born on March 18, 1935, in Montell, Texas to Dionicio and Petra Valverda Sifuentez. She married Julian Torrez Sr. on July 21, 1951, at Camp Wood, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1995.
They came to Samnorwood, Texas in 1960, then to Quail,Texas in 1963.The family moved into Wellington in 1964. She served as a homemaker and mom, and she cooked in restaurants, operating her own for several years.
Sandra was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and a son, Alefonso Torrez, in 1960.
Sandra is survived by four sons, Julian Torrez Jr. and wife Helen, of McLean, Texas, Roland Torrez, of Wellington, David Torrez and wife Michelle, of Amarillo, Texas, and Rudy Torrez and wife Crystal, of Cibolo, Texas; three daughters, Martha Weems and husband Gary, of Tomball, Texas, Chrissy Gutierrez and Mary Johnson and Kent Riley, both of Wellington; two brothers, Paublo Sifuentez and Dionicio Sifuentez Jr., both of Camp Wood; two sisters, Beatrice Martinez, of Odessa, Texas, and Odelia Martinez, of Camp Wood; 37 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
