Tony Ray Lynn Pickering passed away June 28, 2024, at the age of 40, in Abilene, Texas.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Robertson Funeral Directors Heritage Chapel in Memphis, Texas. Cremation and arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.
Tony was born on May 30, 1984, in Memphis to Dory Ray Wilks and Jackla Kay Byars. Tony worked in Memphis at the Old Fashion Freeze. He was a terrific short-order cook and made the best breakfast burritos in town.
Tony married the love of his life, Rachel Nicole Thomas, on Oct. 1, 2022, in Lakeview, Texas. He made his home in Memphis with his wife and stepsons Michael and Marcus Thomas.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife and stepsons; his daughter, Kaylynn; his sons, Chase, Jaden and T.J.; his sister, Julia Lopez, and two nephews; second mom Mary Lee Tucker; his in-laws, Chantel and Jeremy; sister in-law Heather Rushing; and many friends.
Tony is an organ donor and a hero to many. All he ever wanted to do was help people, and now, he’s able to save lives.
