Virginia Lee McHam, 85, of Memphis, Texas, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024, in Childress,Texas.
Graveside services took place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024, in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis with Rev. Anthony Knowles officiating.
Arrangements were by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.
Virginia was born Feb. 18, 1938, in Red River County, Texas to O.B. Walker Sr. and Ocie Lee Osburn Walker. She had been a housekeeper prior to her retirement and had been a resident of Memphis for several years. She enjoyed playing games, listening to music and making bead art and Christmas ornaments, and she was very crafty. She deeply loved her grandkids and great-grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Bobby Jack Saxon; her brothers, Oscar Walker Jr. and Wendell Walker; her sisters, Jeanette McHam and Wenell Schull; and two grandchildren,Ashlie and Mindy Wiggins.
Survivors include her daughter, Sheila Wiggins and husband Doug, of Memphis; a sister, Zoda Farris, of Memphis; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be sent to Fairview Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 265, Memphis, TX 79245.
