Funeral services for Geraldine Mitchell, 87, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Childress Methodist Church with Dr. Mike Henderson officiating. Burial followed in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m.

Wayne Gilbert Cook, 87, passed away on March 7, 2023. Wayne was born on Feb. 18, 1936, to Emma Marie Kirby and Oscar Leonard Cook in Grand Prairie, Texas. Wayne served as a Texas State Trooper for eight years and went on to driving for Trailways/Greyhound for 35 years.
