CHILDRESS/MEMPHIS — The Hall-Childress Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is taking orders for field and farmstead windbreak trees.Each year, the Hall-Childress SWCD, in cooperation with Lubbock’s Texas A&M Forest Service, offers the public trees for establishing windbreaks.

Volunteers Zella and Camden McDaniel, children of Lion Jarrod McDaniel, assist in serving pickles and onions at the Wellington Lions Club Super Bowl Pulled Pork fundraiser event last Sunday afternoon, Feb. 8 at the Club Room of the Bura Handley Community Center.
Offered at 1 p.m. on Thursday afternoons through the month of February, Saunna Blacksher leads participants in diamond art at the Wellington Senior Citizens Center (WSCC). WSCC currently offers exercise and wellness classes, monthly socials and birthday lunch celebrations, day trips and game room activities. CHILDRESS — Modern Home Club met Thursday, Jan. 15 at the Childress County Heritage Museum. The meeting was called to order by President Soundra Christy, who welcomed members and guests. The minutes were read by Secretary Raenell Smith and approved without changes or additions.
